We add assets to your will so that when you die, the people who administer your will know what to look for.

Valuations of assets go up and down over time so you do not need to value an asset.

You can decide how to split your assets later and you can also specify gifts later so for now, we just need you to identify your biggest assets.

Adding bank and savings accounts

We don’t need to know the account details or the value of the amount of money in them as this will change over time.

If you have multiple accounts with the same bank then please add them individually, for example you might add 2 bank accounts like this:

"Barclays - Day to day account"

"Barclays - Savings account"

Businesses and wills can be complicated.

If you are a ‘sole trader’ or the sole owner of the business then you can usually pass the business on without any issues.

If you are the joint owner of a business then you may have agreements in place that override your will. If you own a business in any other the following formations then you should check any agreements that you have with your partners. You can learn more here.

This may all seem a bit strange but there are legal reasons for making the distinction about legal child status and you can learn more here.

In this section you can decide who you would like to leave gifts to and if you wish, you can leave messages to those people.

The vehicle that you have today, may not the the vehicle that you have when you die.

On the other hand, you may never wish to part with a certain vehicle. In which case you can specify it as a gift but please bear in mind that if you do not own this vehicle at the time of death then it will not be gifted to the chosen recipient(s).

Examples of vehicles may include cars, vans, bikes, yachts or boats, caravans and planes if you’re really lucky..

Gifting a collection of items

You may wish to split a collection of items such as your ‘art collection’ or your ‘collection of Beano magazines’. You can do that here and you can leave the collection to just one beneficiary or you can split it amongst numerous beneficiaries.

Guardians are trusted friends or family who would look after your children or pets when you die.

The guardians that you select for your children would only become guardians if your child was under 18 and any other person with parental responsibility for them was also dead.
